Navigating a Project
Every project opens into a two-part shell: a global top bar that spans the width of the screen and a sidebar down the left. The top bar sets your context — which organization, project, storefront, and language you’re looking at — and the sidebar takes you to the work.
The top bar
Section titled “The top bar”The top bar carries four labeled dropdowns, left to right, plus a support link and your account menu.
Switches the active organization. Every org you belong to is listed. Choosing one takes you to the last project you had open in that org (or the first project alphabetically). Manage Current Org opens that org’s projects view.
Project
Section titled “Project”Switches between projects in the current organization. When you switch, Apptonomy keeps you on the same page if it exists for the new project; otherwise it drops you on the new project’s Watchtower. Project Settings at the bottom of the menu opens the current project’s settings.
Storefront
Section titled “Storefront”Toggles between App Store and Google Play. This is the store you’re viewing throughout the project — the live listing, audits, keywords, and analytics all follow the selected storefront.
If a store button has no listing attached yet, clicking it prompts you to add that store’s URL (see Add a store you skipped below). When only one store is connected, the switcher snaps to it.
Language / Region
Section titled “Language / Region”Selects which locale you’re viewing. The menu lists the project’s primary locale (marked Primary) plus any target languages you’ve added. The selection drives the localized listing text and per-locale audit views. Projects with a single locale still show the switcher so the active locale is always visible.
The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”The sidebar is scoped to the project shown in the top bar. At the very top, an app card shows the store icon, app title, and publisher for the selected storefront, so you always know which app you’re looking at.
Below that, the navigation is grouped:
- Top section (unlabeled) — Watchtower (the project home), Notifications (with an unread badge), Live Listing, and Performance.
- App Discovery — Keywords & Clusters, AI Discoverability, User Intent, and Competitors.
- Install Conversion — Store Text, Screenshots, Icon, and User Sentiment.
- Listing Edit & Publish — Revision Plan, Asset Editor (with Store Text, Icon, and Screenshots under it), and Publishing.
- Archives — Audit History and Publishing History.
Engine pages that your plan doesn’t include show a lock badge; clicking one opens an upgrade prompt instead of navigating. The set of items is the same for every role — viewers see the same sidebar as owners.
Add a store you skipped
Section titled “Add a store you skipped”If you created the project with only one store, you can add the other one later. In the top bar’s Storefront switch, click the store that isn’t connected yet. Apptonomy prompts you for that store’s listing URL, attaches it to the project, and switches you to it. From then on the project spans both stores.
You can also manage store links from the project’s Settings → Store Link page.
How this connects to what you do
Section titled “How this connects to what you do”- Pick your Storefront and Language / Region first — everything below reflects those choices.
- Start on the Watchtower to read overall health, then drill into a specific engine from the sidebar. See The Watchtower dashboard.
