Publishing History
Publishing History is the log of everything Apptonomy has pushed to a store for your project. Each publish — store text or screenshots — appears as an entry you can open to see how it went. It’s a read-only record, scoped to one store at a time.
Why it matters
Section titled “Why it matters”Publishing runs in the background, so this is where you confirm it actually landed. When a store metric moves, the history tells you what you shipped and when. And when a publish gets stuck, this is where you see it — and where you’ll find the error.
How to read it
Section titled “How to read it”Open Publishing History under Archives in the sidebar. It lists publish activity for the currently selected store (switch stores to see the other one’s history). Each entry shows:
- What was published — PUBLISH: Store Listing for store text, PUBLISH: Screenshots for screenshots.
- Status — a badge that updates as the publish runs: Pending / Publishing while in flight, then Completed or Failed. Running entries refresh on their own.
- How much — the number of languages included.
- When — the timestamp of the publish.
Click any entry to open its detail, including the step-by-step log for that publish.
Stalled and failed publishes
Section titled “Stalled and failed publishes”A publish that starts but never reports a result — usually because the store API is slow or the job was interrupted — doesn’t hang forever. Apptonomy automatically marks it Failed after 30 minutes, and the entry’s detail shows an error noting the deadline was exceeded. When that happens, open the failed entry to read the error, confirm nothing landed on the store, and publish again.
For the App Store, remember that a successful publish delivers your changes into App Store Connect (screenshots go to a pending build). Apptonomy’s job is done once it hands off to Apple — the final review and release still happen in App Store Connect. A “Completed” here means the hand-off succeeded, not that Apple has published your update live.
How it connects to what you do
Section titled “How it connects to what you do”- You create these entries by publishing a revision or publishing screenshots.
- After a successful App Store publish, finish the release in App Store Connect.
- To see what the changes did to your listing over time, use audit history and performance dashboards.
