Emails & Preferences
Apptonomy sends email when something happens that you asked it to watch: an audit finishes, a competitor changes their listing, your trial is ending. This page covers what those emails are and how to turn any of them off.
Why it matters
Section titled “Why it matters”Most of the product’s ongoing value shows up in your inbox. If you never open the app between audits, the competitor digest and audit-summary emails are how you find out something changed. But the defaults are tuned to be calm, and every category is yours to switch off — so it’s worth knowing which lever controls which email.
What Apptonomy emails you
Section titled “What Apptonomy emails you”The emails fall into a few groups.
- Audit results. When an audit you ran finishes, you get a completion email with a PDF of the report attached. Scheduled and nightly audits can also send a summary of what the run found.
- Competitor changes. When a competitor you track edits their store listing — title, subtitle, description, what’s-new, category, icon, or a screenshot — Apptonomy can email you. You choose the cadence (see below): a single weekly digest, or one email per change as it happens.
- Account & trial. Trial reminders, account-status updates, and onboarding tips — the lifecycle messages that help you get set up and tell you when something about your subscription needs attention.
- Product updates. New features, improvements, and release notes.
- ASO tips & guides. App Store Optimization best-practice content, sent occasionally.
- Offers & promotions. Discounts and promotional campaigns.
- Transactional. Receipts, confirmations, and password resets. These are tied to actions you take and are treated as essential.
Managing your email preferences
Section titled “Managing your email preferences”Every marketing and notification email has a preferences link and an unsubscribe link in its footer. Both open the Email Preferences page. You don’t need to log in to use it — the link carries a signed token that identifies your address, so it works straight from your inbox.
The preference center
Section titled “The preference center”The Email Preferences page has three parts.
- Competitor change emails — choose Weekly digest (the recommended, quieter option) or Real-time, which sends one email per change. Changing this requires being signed in, because the cadence is stored on your account.
- Email me about — per-field switches for competitor changes: Title, Subtitle, What’s new, Description, Category, Icon, and Screenshots. Turn a field off to stop getting emails about changes to it. This applies across all your projects; the in-app activity feed still shows everything regardless of these switches. Also requires being signed in.
- Category toggles — one switch per email category: Account & Trial, Product Updates, ASO Tips & Guides, Offers & Promotions, Drip Sequences, Transactional, Product Emails, and Operational. Switch off any you don’t want.
Make your changes, then click Save Preferences.
Unsubscribe from everything
Section titled “Unsubscribe from everything”At the bottom of the page there’s an Unsubscribe from all emails switch. Turning it on stops every category at once. You’ll still receive essential transactional messages such as password resets, since those are tied to actions on your own account.
The unsubscribe link in an email footer does the same thing in one click.
How it connects to what you do
Section titled “How it connects to what you do”Email preferences only control what lands in your inbox. Inside the app, the notification feed and activity views always show the full picture regardless of what you’ve muted.
- Competitor-change emails come from the competitors you’re tracking — see Competitor activity.
- Audit-result emails follow your audit cadence — see Scheduled audits.
- In-app equivalents of these emails live in Notifications.
