Play Store Screen Sizes

These are the Google Play screenshot sizes Apptonomy renders and publishes at, grouped by Google Play’s screenshot image type. Google Play accepts screenshots within a range of dimensions rather than at one fixed size; the values below are the nominal dimensions Apptonomy renders to for each image type.

Dimensions are width × height in pixels. Google Play validates every screenshot against a shared set of bounds: each side must be between 320 px and 3840 px, and the longest side may be no more than twice the shortest (an effective cap of 2:1 in either orientation). Phone and tablet screenshots share these bounds; Google recommends a minimum shortest side of 1080 px and 16:9 / 9:16 aspect ratios for crisp rendering. You may upload up to 8 screenshots per device type.

Google Play’s listing accepts additional image slots beyond phone and tablet screenshots. Apptonomy recognizes these image types, though it renders screenshots to the phone and tablet dimensions above. Google’s required dimensions for each:

Google Play doesn’t publish a fixed pixel size for TV screenshots — they use the same min/max and aspect-ratio bounds as phone and tablet screenshots.

The nominal render dimensions come from Apptonomy’s screen-dimension table, and the image-type identifiers from the Google Play image-type set Apptonomy uses when publishing. The table carries the nominal target dimension per device, not Google Play’s full min/max bounds. The bounds, aspect ratios, and the fixed sizes for the feature graphic, icon, TV banner, TV screenshots, and Wear OS screenshots come from Google Play’s official Add preview assets to showcase your app Play Console Help page. Google’s own specification is the authority for the complete accepted range and aspect-ratio requirements, and these values can change.
