Working with Recommendations
Every engine section in an audit produces recommendations. Working with them means deciding which ones you’ll act on, which you’ll set aside, and getting the ones you keep into your Revision Plan so they turn into actual listing changes.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need a completed audit report open. To produce one, see Run an Audit.
- Saving and dismissing are per-recommendation actions available on the recommendation cards and insights throughout the report.
Save what you’ll act on
Section titled “Save what you’ll act on”Apptonomy gives you two ways to keep a recommendation, and they mean different things.
Pin an action to your Revision Plan
Section titled “Pin an action to your Revision Plan”A recommendation that implies a concrete listing change (rewrite this line, swap this screenshot) can be pinned. On the card, use Pin to Revision Plan. Pinning drops the action into your Revision Plan, where it’s grouped with the engine it came from. To undo it, use Unpin from Revision Plan. You’ll see a “Pinned to Revision Plan.” confirmation with a View in Revision Plan shortcut.
Bookmark an insight to come back to
Section titled “Bookmark an insight to come back to”When you want to keep an insight for reference rather than turn it into a task, use Bookmark this insight (shown as Bookmark to Revision Plan on recommendation cards). Bookmarks collect in the Bookmarks view of your Revision Plan. Use Remove bookmark to clear one.
Dismiss a finding you’ve judged
Section titled “Dismiss a finding you’ve judged”If a recommendation doesn’t apply to your app — or you’ve already handled it — dismiss it so it stops taking up space. On the card, choose Dismiss with reason. Apptonomy asks “Why are you dismissing this recommendation?” and offers:
- Not applicable
- Already done
- Tried, didn’t work
- Bad recommendation
- Other (with a short free-text note)
The reason isn’t just bookkeeping. Because every audit re-derives its recommendations from scratch, a dismissal becomes a dismissal rule that suppresses that specific recommendation on future runs, so it doesn’t keep coming back. Deep-link to a specific insight
Section titled “Deep-link to a specific insight”To point a teammate at one exact finding, use the Copy insight link action on that insight. It copies an absolute URL straight to that recommendation. Opening the link loads the report and scrolls to the insight, briefly highlighting it. This is the precise way to reference a single finding — more exact than sending someone the whole report and describing where to look.

How saved items feed your Revision Plan

The Revision Plan is where the work you keep turns into listing changes. It collects everything you pin and bookmark from your audits, organized so you can act on it:
- Pinned actions are grouped by the engine they came from — AI Discovery, Store Text, Icon, Screenshots.
- Bookmarks collect in their own Bookmarks view across all engines.
From there you build the actual revision — the draft of your title, description, screenshots, and other listing fields — from the recommendations you chose to keep. Saving in the report and building in the Revision Plan are two ends of the same loop: the audit tells you what to change, and the Revision Plan is where you change it.
