title: Members & Roles
description: Invite teammates, understand the Owner, Manager, and Standard roles, and manage who can change what in your organization.
---

An organization is the container for your projects, billing, and team. Everyone in it has one of three roles: **Owner**, **Manager**, or **Standard**. The role decides what they can change. This page covers what each role can do, how to invite people, and how to change or remove members.

## Before you start

- You need to be the **Owner** or a **Manager** to invite, remove, or change members.
- Seats are limited by your plan. When you're at the seat limit, the **Invite Member** button opens an upgrade prompt instead of the invite form. See [Plans & entitlements](/docs/billing/plans-and-entitlements) for per-tier seat counts.

## The three roles

| Role | What it's for |
|---|---|
| **Owner** | The person who created the organization. Full control, including deleting the organization. One owner at a time. |
| **Manager** | Runs the organization: connects the App Store and Google Play, publishes, manages billing, members and settings, and can delete projects. |
| **Standard** | Works on projects: listings, keywords, competitors, audits and reports. Cannot touch store credentials, publishing, billing, members or settings, or delete a project. |

### What each role can do

| Right | Owner | Manager | Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| View projects, listings, keywords, competitors and reports | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Edit listings, keywords, competitors and project settings | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Connect, change or remove App Store and Google Play credentials | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Publish listings and screenshots to the stores | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Manage billing and the subscription | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Delete a project | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Invite and remove members, and change their roles | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Change organization settings, features and integrations, and view the activity log | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Delete the organization | ✓ | — | — |

The same table appears in the app: on the **Members** page, in the invite form (with the role you're picking highlighted), and on a store connection a Standard member can't make.

When a Standard member reaches a control their role doesn't include — **Connect App Store**, **Connect Google Play Console**, **Publish Now** — it is disabled, and the reason beside it names who can do it: an Owner or Manager.

:::note[Role gates are not plan gates]
When someone is blocked because of their role, they see a permission message, not an upgrade prompt. Upgrading the plan wouldn't grant access; the person needs a different role. A plan gate is the opposite: the feature exists for your role but your tier doesn't include it, and the prompt offers an upgrade.

## Invite a member

### 1. Open the invite form

On the **Members** page, click **Invite Member**. If your organization is at its seat limit, this opens an upgrade prompt instead — add a seat by moving to a plan with more seats (see [Plans & entitlements](/docs/billing/plans-and-entitlements)).

### 2. Fill in their details

Enter the person's **First Name**, **Last Name**, and **Email Address**. First and last name are optional; email is required.

### 3. Choose a role

Pick **Standard** or **Manager** from the **Role** dropdown. The form shows what the role can do, with the role highlighted in the table above. Standard is the default. If this person will connect your App Store or Google Play account, choose **Manager**.

You can't invite someone directly as Owner. Changing the owner isn't available in the app yet; contact support.

### 4. Send it

Click **Send Invite**. The person receives an email naming the role and what it allows. Until they accept, they appear under **Pending Invitations** with their email, invite date, and role.

## Verify it worked

- The new invitation shows under **Pending Invitations** on the Members page.
- Pending invitations count against your seat usage, so the seat total reflects the invite immediately — not only once the person accepts.
- After the person accepts, they move into the **Members** table with their name, email, role, and join date.

## Change a member's role

On the **Members** table, use the role dropdown in a member's row to switch them between **Manager** and **Standard**. The change applies immediately.

The owner's row shows a fixed **Owner** badge with no dropdown — you can't change the owner's role here. Handing the organization to someone else happens through [Organization settings](/docs/team/organization-settings) — ownership transfer is coming soon, so for now contact support to change the account owner.

## Remove a member

Click the trash icon in a member's row and confirm **Remove**. They lose access right away.

You can't remove the owner, and you can't remove yourself — if you're the owner and want to leave, the organization needs a new owner first (ownership transfer is coming soon; contact support in the meantime).

## Troubleshooting

### A teammate can't connect the App Store or Google Play

Their role is Standard. Only an Owner or Manager can connect a store, and generating another App Store Connect or Google Play key won't change that. Either connect the store yourself, or change their role to **Manager** on the Members page.

### The Invite Member button opens an upgrade prompt instead of the form

You've reached your plan's seat limit, counting both current members and pending invitations. Either remove a pending invitation or a member to free a seat, or move to a plan with more seats. Seat counts per tier are in [Plans & entitlements](/docs/billing/plans-and-entitlements).

### I invited someone but they're not in the Members table

They haven't accepted yet. Check **Pending Invitations** — they stay there until they click the link in the invitation email. If the invite has expired, send a new one.
